Our Vision for Divorce Education Programs

The Center for Divorce Education is dedicated to the following goals :

At Our Core, We View Our Mission as Advocating for Children.

To achieve this mission and our stated goals, we conduct research and identify the most effective divorce education strategies that are proven to help parents reduce their conflict while maintaining a focus on achieving their parental responsibilities. The result is a reduction in the harm caused to children while parents are going through a divorce or creating two separate homes (for never married couples).

The strategies identified by the Center for Divorce Education's research are based on experimental designs (including randomization) and have been replicated by independent researchers internationally (producing similar results – see Resources Tab for summaries).

With an emphasis on evidence-based practices, the online divorce education curriculum produced and disseminated by CDE has received the highest accolades from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, SAMHSA division, with recognition as a "model program" and listed on the National Registry for Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP).
